Photographing Skiis in the summertime

One of my most interesting stories started with a call from DDB Toronto. Rossingnol the ski maker, who was a client of DDB Toronto, wanted to have some ads made in July. Where to go to to photograph skiing in July was the question. After a short deliberation we decided it should be Portillo in Chile. The week before we were to leave found me in Los Angles on another assignment. So I would fly to Santiago from LA. and meet up there with Rick Okada The art director and two other people from the agency. The plane ride down from LA was amazing following the shoreline of S. America and seeing the sun rise over the Andes was a picture I have in my mind to this day.
